    Foster's

It is starting to rain and it feels good here. Got there about 9:30 and got a place at the bar. Keith shows up about 15 minutes later. Plenty of opportunity for eye contact practice but Keith and I are not in the mood. Basically, we discussed our day, watched baseball, and looked at the other people there doing what we were doing. Things started to pick up around 10:00. This place is definitely a singles bar. Lots of approaches.

We don't do a thing and manage to meet someone. This girl comes up and stands behind us for awhile waiting for the bartender to notice her. Eventually, she pushes up to the bar and orders a couple of B52's. I ask her "What's a B52?" She doesn't know. The bartender brings the B52's. They are two shots of something. I remark that they must be called B52's because one shot and your bombed. She laughs and brings the drinks back to her friends. Interestingly, her hands are trembling so much she can barely hold the shots. She seems like the quick, nervous type. Heavy makeup too. But really, not bad looking.

Later, she returns to the bar to get another shot. The bartender is ignoring her so Keith says something like he can't believe he can't see her. This stimulated a profuse series of thank you's from her. Nothing like a little flattery. This starts the conversation though. She asks what we were doing afterward. We said Have A Nice Day Cafe. She likes Have A Nice Day but didn't think she could get her friends to go. We said we'll be there around 11:00 and would see her there. She said fine, introduced herself and went back to her table. Keith and I just sat there like lumps on a log. Very stupid. What we should have done was to introduce ourselves and ask if we could join them. We didn't and about five minutes later someone else moves in.

Keith and I couldn't remember her name exactly. As we are leaving, Keith goes over and says bye and we'll see you at Have A Nice Day. He got her name wrong. That really goes over well.

P.S. I drove all the way from Foster's to Have A Nice Day without my lights. Didn't pull the switch out far enough. That's what I get for having good night vision and a drink and a beer.

    Have A Nice Day Cafe

Needless to say, the Foster's girl never shows. Unbelievable, but I can't remember her name. We get there late (for us, around 11:30) and the place is packed dispite the rain. Keith and I are both up. We have been starting to work as a team on the approaches. Usually we go up to the balcony and scope out the place. We see two girls alone at the lower rail and go down to ask them to dance. Before we get there, some other guys have moved in. Later on, the same thing happens again. We decide the balcony is not the place to be. We saw another pair and I approached one of them. Boy, was I ignored. I haven't been ignored that badly in a long time. I beat a hasty retreat. The girls leave and two others replace them. "Dancing Queen" comes on so Keith goes for it. She says yes, of course. No female says no when "Dancing Queen" comes on. I ride Keith's coattails and ask the other girl to dance. Another automatic yes. She was actually frantic to get onto the dance floor. Unbelievable. We dance then hang out. Keith really hits it off and gets her phone number. Nothing for me but I'm not bothered. I'm in hot pursuit of Valerie anyway. We stay a little longer and leave.
