    Marz

Halloween night. Keith and I dressed up and went to the 5th Annual Freaker's Ball. We had a real debate over Marz or Long Branch. Marz finely won because we had memberships, three dance floors, and, most importantly, a younger crowd. Hope springs eternal! Bill went with us and so did Leslie. Leslie going was a big surprise. The grapevine said that she had moved to Raleigh to be with her boyfriend of two years. Keith was discussing our plans with her and it came out that she was doing nothing on Halloween. Keith, being the gallant gentleman, invited Leslie along. I wonder what happened with her boyfriend? We were supposed to meet Teri and her friends and Allison and her friends but neither party showed. No surprise with Allison. She never follows her plans anyway.

We get there and wonder around for a while. A lot of costumes. People are there to show off their costumes and to see the costumes others. Not much dancing until around 11:30. We all have a dance with Leslie then wander around some more and end up in the '70's disco. Not much disco being played but that's OK because no one is much interested in dancing. Bill leaves early. Keith and I dance with Leslie for the rest of the night. We're so involved we miss the best costume contest. Oh well.

I missed an opportunity (I think) to dance with Cat Women. It seems like Marz is the place of lost opportunity for me. The pathetic thing is that I don't realize it until the next day. I'm going to start making an effort to grasp those opportunities.

Leslie came as an eight ball, Keith came as death, Bill came as himself, and I came as a New Waver. Keith's costume was the best. Someone stole Leslie's magic eight ball. I can't believe the number of assholes in the world.

P.S. Putting on the makeup was a royal pain. I now have a lot greater respect for makeup artists.
